10 Promises of God to Stand On (KJV)

Feelings shift. Circumstances change. But God's promises don't move. When life feels shaky, you need something solid under your feet — and Scripture is full of promises you can stand on. Here are ten of them, straight from the King James Bible.

1. He Promises His Presence — Joshua 1:9

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

You never walk into anything alone. Whithersoever — wherever you go, He goes.

2. He Promises Renewed Strength — Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

For the faint and the empty: wait on Him, and He will refill you.

3. He Promises a Good Future — Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

His thoughts toward you are peace, not punishment — with a hope-filled future attached.

4. He Promises Rest — Matthew 11:28

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Not advice about rest. Rest itself, given like a gift to the weary.

5. He Promises His Love — John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Before you ever believed, you were loved. “Whosoever” includes you.

6. He Promises Strength for Everything — Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Not strength to escape your circumstances — strength to live faithfully inside them.

7. He Promises to Supply Your Need — Philippians 4:19

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Your need is measured against heaven's treasury, not your bank account.

8. He Promises Grace That Is Enough — 2 Corinthians 12:9

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”

He may not remove the thorn — but He will fill the weak place with His strength.

9. He Promises Never to Leave You — Hebrews 13:5

“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

The strongest denial in Scripture: never, no never, ever. He stays.

10. He Promises You Are His — Isaiah 43:1

“Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”

Named, redeemed, claimed. You belong to Him, and He walks through every water and fire with you.
