12 Ways to Use Scripture Cards in Your Daily Life

Scripture cards are small, simple, and surprisingly powerful. A verse you see every day has a way of sinking in — and showing up right when you need it. Here are twelve ways to put them to work, each paired with a verse from the King James Bible.

1. Tape One to Your Bathroom Mirror

Start the day with truth before the day starts with noise. “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24

2. Tuck One in Your Purse or Wallet

Carry encouragement wherever you go. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

3. Slip One into a Lunchbox

A midday reminder for your kids or spouse. “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1

4. Keep One on Your Nightstand

End the day in peace, not worry. “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” — Psalm 4:8

5. Stick One on the Fridge

Where the whole family sees it. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

6. Use One as a Prayer Prompt

Pray the verse back to God, word by word. “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” — Psalm 55:22

7. Memorize One a Week

One card, seven days, hidden in your heart. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3

8. Mail One to a Friend

A handwritten note with a verse beats a text every time. “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.” — Romans 15:13

9. Keep One in Your Car

For traffic jams and hard commutes. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

10. Place One on Your Desk

Strength for the workday. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” — Philippians 4:13

11. Give a Set as a Gift

Encouragement is always the right gift. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

12. Read One When Anxiety Hits

Keep the peace verses close. “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7
