7 KJV Bible Verses for Anxiety and Worry

Anxiety has a way of showing up uninvited — at 2 a.m., before a big decision, or in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. If your mind won't stop racing, you're not alone, and you're not without hope. God's Word speaks directly to the worried heart. Here are seven verses from the King James Bible to hold onto when anxiety rises.

1. Philippians 4:6-7

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Don't sit with your worries — hand them over. Prayer isn't a last resort; it's the first step. And the promise attached is real peace, the kind that doesn't always make sense but guards your heart anyway.

2. 1 Peter 5:7

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

All of it. Not some of it, not the small stuff — all of it. Cast your cares onto Him because He cares for you personally.

3. Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

When fear whispers that you're alone, this verse answers back: He is with you, He will strengthen you, and He will uphold you. That's three promises in one verse.

4. Matthew 6:34

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Most anxiety lives in tomorrow. Jesus invites you back into today. Handle today's troubles; leave tomorrow to God.

5. Psalm 94:19

“In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”

Even the psalmist knew what a crowded, noisy mind feels like. God's comforts don't just quiet the noise — they delight the soul.

6. John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Jesus doesn't offer the world's fragile peace. He gives His own peace — and then commands the troubled heart to rest.

7. Psalm 55:22

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

You weren't meant to carry it all. Cast the burden; He'll do the sustaining.
