7 Promises of God to Stand On When You Feel Weak

Weakness isn't the end of the story — in God's hands, it's the beginning. His promises are made for the moments when your strength runs out. Here are seven of them from the King James Bible to stand on today.

1. Isaiah 40:29

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

God doesn't wait for you to get strong — He gives power to the faint. If you have no might at all, you qualify for His increase.

2. 2 Corinthians 12:9

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

God's strength doesn't just help your weakness — it's made perfect in it. Paul stopped fighting his weakness and started boasting in it, because that's where Christ's power rests.

3. Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Memorize this one. Your weakness plus Christ's strength equals “all things.” Not some things — all things.

4. Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Three promises stacked in one verse: I will strengthen thee, I will help thee, I will uphold thee. When you're weak, He is strong — and He says so plainly.

5. Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Courage isn't the absence of fear — it's God's presence in the middle of it. He goes with you, and He will not fail you or forsake you.

6. Psalm 73:26

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

David admits the failure — flesh fails, hearts fail — and then points higher: God is the strength of my heart. When your strength runs out, His becomes your portion.

7. Joshua 1:9

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

This isn't a suggestion — it's a command backed by a promise. Be strong, be courageous, because the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
