Bible Verses About Strength and Victory for Life's Battles (KJV)
Share
Everybody faces battles — the diagnosis, the debt, the broken relationship, the temptation that won't quit. The good news is that the Bible doesn't tell you to win them in your own strength. It tells you where real strength comes from. Here are eight verses for the fight you're in.
1. Pray on the Mountain — Exodus 17:11
“And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
You fight in the valley, but you win on the mountain. Prayer turns the tide.
2. Come in His Name — 1 Samuel 17:45
“Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”
David didn't deny the mismatch — he just knew the battle was never sword against sword. One name beat three weapons.
3. The Battle Is Not Yours — 2 Chronicles 20:15
“Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.”
Some battles are too big for you — and God tells you plainly: this one is Mine.
4. His Joy Is Your Strength — Nehemiah 8:10
“For the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Not your joy — His. When your own joy runs dry, you can draw on His, and that celebration becomes fuel.
5. Let Him Arm You — Psalm 18:32
“It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.”
Stop trying to gird yourself. Let God equip you: sure feet, trained hands, His shield over your life.
6. Not by Your Might — Zechariah 4:6
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Your mountain doesn't move because you're strong. It moves because He is.
7. Be Strong in the Lord — Ephesians 6:10
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Not strong in yourself, your plan, or your record. Strong in the Lord — then put on the whole armour and stand.
8. Strong in Weakness — 2 Corinthians 12:9
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Your weakest point isn't the obstacle to God's strength — it's the stage for it. When you are weak, then you are strong.
