Who Does God Say You Are? Your Identity in Christ

The world hands out labels fast: too much, not enough, too old, too broken, too late. But none of those labels get the final word. If you're in Christ, God has already told you exactly who you are. Here's what the King James Bible says about your identity.

You Are God's Workmanship — Ephesians 2:10

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

You are not an accident or an afterthought. You are His workmanship — crafted on purpose, for a purpose, before you ever took a breath.

You Are Chosen — 1 Peter 2:9

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.”

Chosen. Royal. Called out of darkness into His marvellous light. That's not a small identity — that's a royal one.

You Are Free from Condemnation — Romans 8:1

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

Your past does not define you. In Christ, there is no condemnation — not from God, and you don't have to keep condemning yourself either.

You Are Made New — 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Whatever “old things” you're carrying, they passed away. In Christ you are brand new — not renovated, not patched up, made new.

You Are Wonderfully Made — Psalm 139:14

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

God doesn't make mistakes, and He didn't make one with you. Fearfully and wonderfully made — that's His craftsmanship on your life.

You Are Loved Beyond Measure — Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

He loved you and gave Himself for you. That is the measure of your worth — the cross.

You Are a Child of God — 1 John 3:1

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.”

Not a servant hoping for scraps. A child. Called, named, and loved by the Father.
