How to Choose Diabetic Socks
Share
The right diabetic socks protect sensitive feet and keep you comfortable all day. Here's what to look for before you buy.
1. Non-binding tops
The single most important feature. A gentle, non-binding top stays up without digging in or restricting circulation.
2. Seamless or smooth toes
Fewer seams means less rubbing and irritation — especially important for sensitive feet.
3. Cushioning where it counts
Look for a cushioned sole that softens each step without making the sock too thick for your shoes.
4. Moisture-wicking, breathable fabric
Cotton and bamboo blends pull moisture away from the skin and help keep feet dry.
5. The right fit
Socks should fit snugly without bunching or sliding. Check the size range before you buy, and replace pairs once the elastic starts to go.
6. Crew, ankle, or calf?
Mostly personal preference: crew for everyday wear, ankle for warmer weather or active days, calf for extra coverage.
Care tip: wash in cold water and air-dry when you can — it keeps the elastic and cushioning in better shape for longer.
